The client for this project was academic in nature, since I created Astro Pop as a packaging design assignment during my second semester in the Graphic Design program. Rather than designing for an existing commercial company, I approached the project as if I were working for a creative client looking for a bold and visually distinctive beverage brand aimed at a younger audience. This gave me the freedom to explore branding, label design, typography, and product presentation while still following the expectations of a real-world design brief. The project allowed me to develop both conceptual and technical skills by treating the work professionally, from the initial brand idea in Adobe Illustrator to the final 3D mockup presentation in Adobe Dimension.

Project overview
This project focused on creating a complete beverage can label and 3D product presentation for a fictional drink called Astro Pop. I designed the label in Adobe Illustrator and then used Adobe Dimension to apply the artwork onto a can mockup and create realistic final renders. The goal of the project was to build a packaging design that felt bold, colourful, and memorable, while also learning how a flat graphic layout translates onto a three-dimensional product. Through this process, I explored branding, typography, colour, composition, and mockup presentation, while developing a design that felt playful, eye-catching, and strong enough to stand as a realistic product concept.
Challenges
One of the main challenges in this project was balancing a bold, expressive visual style with the technical structure of a real beverage label. I wanted the design to feel fun, energetic, and highly eye-catching, but I also had to make sure important elements like the nutrition facts, barcode, ingredient text, and bilingual information still fit properly and remained readable. Another challenge was designing the label in Adobe Illustrator while constantly thinking about how it would wrap around a three-dimensional can later in Adobe Dimension. Some elements that looked strong on a flat artboard had to be adjusted once applied to the curved surface, especially the large typography and overall spacing. It also took time to refine the lighting, reflections, and angles in Dimension so the final renders looked realistic and professional rather than just placed onto a basic mockup.

Results
The final result was a vibrant and polished beverage packaging concept that successfully combined strong branding, detailed label design, and realistic 3D presentation. I was able to create a can design that felt bold, playful, and visually memorable, while also making it believable as an actual product through the use of Adobe Dimension renders. The project helped me strengthen my skills in typography, colour selection, layout, packaging structure, and mockup presentation, while also showing how a flat Illustrator design can be translated into a realistic three-dimensional object. Overall, the outcome was successful because it allowed me to present both the creative concept and the final application in a way that felt complete, professional, and visually engaging.
